Meidum and Dahshur

Meidum and Dahshur, while being two separate sites with pyramids, are being placed together here because they are the result, for the most part, of one pharoh, Sneferu, father of Khufu (who built the Great Pyramid at Giza). Before Sneferu, only one royal pyramid stood complete, Djoser's. Sneferu, probably feeling some form of pyramid envy, decided that he needed a pyramid or three. So he commissioned three pyramids, the pyramid of Meidum and the Bent pyramid and North Pyramid at Dahshur.
