Final Warhol Thoughts
"If you want to know all about Andy Warhol, just look at the surface of my paintings and films and me, there I am. There's nothing behind it." Andy Warhol
Personal Note
My personal reasons for choosing to do a museum about Andy Warhol have mainly to do with his career choices. Warhol was successful in bringing a new form of art to the forefront of an ever changing artworld in the 1960's. I am interested in the field of commercial and graphic art and its connection to advertising. Warhol had a unique vision and may have been an extremist but made a mark on American Pop culture. He was a skilled and inventive artist and his paintings have a high visual appeal. I am also fasinated with his obseession with the media and the world of Hollywood and New York celebrities. I can relate to this obsession with the media. Andy Warhol and his paintings surpass generation gaps and will forever be famous and recognizable.
Ethical Statement
When creating a museum on the web the curator has a responsibility to the public and to the topic the museum is representing. A curator on the web must be just as ethical as a curator of a museumin a building. As the curtor of the Andy Warhol Museum I have a responsibility to Warhol and his pieces to show them in an objective a fair manner. I must make my museum open to everyone who has an interest in looking at it. I also have a responsibility to educate my visitors on Andy Warhol and his paintings. In order to be an educator I have completed the proper research on my topics. As a successful curator I have energy, knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject of my museum.
