Petr Prádka - Bohemia Province (*16.4.1961)

I was born in the town of Frenštát pod Radhoštem in the Czech Republic (the western part of former Czechoslovakia). I have one elder and one yonger brother. After nine years of elementary school and four years of secondary school at my native town I began the study of theology in Litomerice (near Prague). Because at that time there was communist rule I had to go after two years for two years to army (military service). Since October 1984 I could continue my study of theology in Litomerice. In 1987 February 14 I was ordained a deacon at cathedral of St. Wenceslaus in Olomouc. And the same year, on June 27, at the same place I was ordained a priest. After that I was assistant pastor in a parish Frýdek.

My Jesuit formation started with a secret novitiate begun in July, 1980. Two years later I secretly took my first vows. Until the 'Velvet Revolution' (November 1989) I was a diocesan priest after ordination. After the revolution, already a Jesuit, I worked from February 1990 as parish priest in Mohelnice. From this place I moved on August 1991 to Bishops Secondary School in Brno, where I was chaplain. In July 1996 I went to Innsbruck (Austria) to study for my license in Theology. In July 1998 I went to Manila for my Tertianship.
