Christmas Assembly






Celebration of Christmas

The celebration of Christmas was given special attention because the poor people themselves asked for it. The celebration was a whole day affair, including a variety of programs from the celebration of the Eucharist to start things off, and then games, dances, contests, and gift giving. Because there was no other place, this celebration was conducted in the cemetery compound. At this assembly, a package of groceries was given to each of the 500 families.




The Christmas General Assembly is now conducted in the Parish with Holy Mass, and the entire celebration takes place in the church compound. Christmas packages are now given to over 1,000 families. It takes one week to prepare for the Christmas assembly.
