The twelve tertians joined seven novices of the Philippine Province for the long retreat. These Novices come from all parts of the Philippines. Six of the Novices who were on retreat with us are in the first year of their two year novitiate experience and one is in his second year. While they were engaging in the long retreat, their brother novices undertook apostolic activity with squatter families in a poor section of Manila.
Novice participants (in rows, left to right, top of stairs to bottom):
Dennis Temporal, n.S.J., Christopher Juan, n.S.J.
Karel San Juan, n.S.J., Jason Dy, n.S.J., Francis Alvarez, n.S.J.
Frank Savadera, n.S.J., Xavier Alpasa, n.S.J. (standing)
During the first "break day" in the long retreat the novices got together for this electronic photo shoot. During the retreat they provided exceptionally good liturgical music for our eucharistic celebrations. They also sang the hymn honoring St. Stanislaus Kostka, n.S.J., patron of novices, exquisitely on the his feast day.
