Two Relic Cards



My name is Margarita. I am 64 years old and I wanted to tell you why I am devoted to Father Pro and happy to be a member of this list.

When I was a little girl, I remember that my maternal grandmother who was 65 or 70 years old was very devoted to Father Pro. She took me to the church and when Mass was over, at the exit of the church we gave out little "estampas", photos and cards of Father Pro. My grandmother was devoted to Father Pro all her life because in her lifetime she lived through the persecution of the Church in Mexico and the assassination of Father Pro. From that time, my Grandmother who lived in Guadalajara dedicated her life to working for Father Pro by giving out his image and his prayers. For this reason, I continue to be devoted to Father Pro. He had much faith! Following is a prayer that my grandmother taught me and which I have prayed since I was a child:

Señor Dios y Padre Nuestro, en quien con tan filial afecto supo confiar el Padre Miguel Agustín Pro de la Compañía de Jesus. Dígnate declarar que sus trabajos por la salvación de las almas te fueron aceptos concediéndonos el favor que te pedimos: ........................ Concédenos, para gloria tuya y tu iglesia perseguida, que logremos ver al Padro Pro elevado al honor de tus altares por Cristo nuestro Señor, Amen.

O God, our Lord and Father, in whom Father Pro placed his trust with great filial love, deign to make known that his work for souls and the sacrifice of his life were pleasing to Thee by granting the favor we ask. Grant us, also, for Thy glory and that of Thy persecuted Church the blessing of seeing him raised to the honors of the altar. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord, Amen.
