Blessed Miguel's Home Today

Here are the photos I took to document the actual site of Blessed Miguel's martyrdom. The bronze plaque says in Spanish:

"En la acera de enfrente en linea perpendicular al fin de la escalera cayo muerto el R.P. Miguel Agustin Pro, SJ fusilado el 23 de Noviembre de 1927 R.I.P."

Translated, this states that: "In front of this sidewalk, in a perpendicular line, at the bottom of the staircase, fell dead the Reverend Padre (R.P.) Miguel Agustin Pro, SJ, shot on the 23rd of November, 1927. R.I.P."

Also, the street on which this site is located is named "Calle Loteria Nacional": National Lottery Street!! The huge yellow building is the National Lottery Building. It used to be a police station in Blessed Miguel's time, which is why the stockade against which he was shot would have been there. And isn't that just like Miguel Pro, who loved to play tricks on people and enjoyed a good joke: that he literally WON the biggest LOTTERY in the universe!!!!! Fr. Rene is standing on the exact spot of Blessed Miguel's martyrdom. We can only pray that when Blessed Miguel is finally canonized, the government may recognize the sanctity of this place and at least allow a plaque or statue to be placed in a more reverent manner on the actual site instead of across the street. The blue car acts like a "marker," as you can clearly see the electrical conduit coming up out of the sidewalk and above/behind it, the bronze marker embedded on the wall of the building.

Viva Cristo Rey!!! Loretta
