XIMENA'S ICON
Coincident with the painting of this Icon was the conception of Ximena's and her husband Patricio's first baby. They now have their first born baby Beatriz and are happy that their prayers were answered. We pray to Our Divine Mother to assist them and bless them in the joys and struggles of being parents.
The prototype for Ximena's Icon was the
Holy Icon of the Mother of God of Korzun
Ximena struggled in the begining since the technique we where using was plav or pettite lac, and the sankir layer kept on breaking up. Finally we had to re-gesso Our Lady's face and modify the technique to dry brush. Finally, as you can see, the results were outstanding!
