The Black Madonna:

Your Lap Has Become the Holy Table

This rendition of a 19th century Russian icon offers us the Virgin Orans amidst the Holy Trinity, with the Holy Spirit descending from the left side, and the Eucharistic Child placed in the chalice on the altar or holy table symbolic of God the Father.

This icon "awaits" the Eucharistic Congress to be celebrated in Italy in the Great Jubilee year of 2,000. The Icon resides in the Jesuit Chapel at Villa Le Moyne in Cazenovia, New York.
