The Lapis Lazuli Sutra

The Lapis Lazuli Sutra
circles upon circles
marked by wings of
paler blue leafy spokes
which keep this
mineral airborne.
This mirage can
bewitch for a time and
intoxicate like the
pull of the moon,
wrenching premature promises
from those enslaved
by the Catherine Wheel
burdened to repeat
ad nauseum
the courting dance.
Salvation comes in
that one awakens
from this dream
aware that a
test has been managed,
lived through,
and as with the dream,
one only carries
a private
revelation.
