The Carnelian Sutra



The Carnelian Sutra
earthbound
burns red-hot
at mystery.
Interrogations fly,
then hover
over this hearth
and are painfully
seared in the crucible
of waiting.
Its fiery orange heart
is stubborn adolescence
with that ring and squalor
of impatience.
it will take yes
or no
for an answer,
but cannot bear
the essence of Incarnation
which is
pregnancy.
