New Course Proposals

Listed below is the number and title of a new course proposed to the Creighton College of Arts and Sciences.  By clicking on the title, you may view the course description and by clicking on the syllabus link you may view the course syllabus.

Questions or observations about a proposed course should be sent (through the faculty member's department Chair) to the Associate Dean's Administrative Assistant within 14 calendar days (a.k.a. two weeks) of the posting date.  If there are no objections by that time or if all objections have been resolved, the course will be adopted by the College.  The number, title, course description, prerequisites, and cross listing information will appear in the University Undergraduate Bulletin. Additions to the Core Curriculum usually exceed the 14 day approval process.  Please see additional information under Core Curriculum below.

Listed below are the numbers and titles for courses which have been submitted to the Core Curriculum Committee for recommendation of approval.  Once accepted for approval by the Dean's Office, the semester in which such approval will become effective will be posted below. The Committee meets monthly, hence the 14 day approval process timeframe is usually extended.

Distance Education Courses

Listed below are the numbers and titles of new or existing courses which have been submitted to the College for approval  to be taught as distance education courses. The Higher Learning Commission requires that the College review these courses and their modes of delivery according to the Creighton University "Quality in Distance Education Policy" and the College's own "Distance Education Policy." While the syllabus attached will show some of the features of the course's distance education pedagogy; the Distance Education Committee of Faculty Senate reviews these courses dynamically online in Blackboard or other infrastructures supported  by DoIT.

Notification of Course Changes

Attention Chair or Program Director:  Certain changes to the courses in your curriculum do not need approval of the College faculty. However, proper recording and notification of these changes is necessary. Please notify the College through the Notification of Course Changes form. Send to Admin 228. c/o the Associate Dean.

University and College Policies: Course title and number may not be changed at the same time. For course description changes, please consult the  Associate Dean. Before changing course numbers, please check with the Registrar to ensure that the number is available (old numbers can be used after 5 years has lapsed since old course was offered).  Please refer to the form for additional notices.
