I am a professor of anthropology in the department of sociology and anthropology at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I graduated with a Ph D in Anthropology from the University of Chicago where I wrote my dissertation on the Lakota Sweat Lodge.
Publications:
I have recently published a paper: “Peter the Aleut: Sacred Icons and the Iconography of Violence” in Boletín: The Journal of the California Mission Studies Association. Robert Senkewicz Editor. Presentations:
I gave a presentation on my work with the Buechel Memorial Lakota Museum at the 83rd Annual Meeting of the Central States Anthorpological Society, Omaha, NE: “Virtually a Museum: The Buechel Memorial Lakota Museum on the Web.” The paper was co-authoried with Creighton Freshman Philip Hennessey.
Scholarly Organizations:
I am a member of the American Anthropological Association, the Aids and Anthropology Research Group and the Central States Anthropological Society. I currently hold the position of director of electronic communications for the Aids and Anthropology Research Group and run a discussion list for the Central States Anthropological Association.
Faculty Positions:
I am an ex-officio memberof the Faculty Senate at Creighton University as department chair. I also serve on the College Technology Committe. In addition to this I am the liason for Native American Outreach at the University.
