I am a professor of anthropology in the department of sociology and anthropology at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. I graduated with a Ph D in Anthropology from the University of Chicago where I wrote my dissertation on the Lakota Sweat Lodge.
Publications:
I am collaborating with Dr. Raymond DeMallie on publishing Father Eugene Buechel's Ethnographic materials. I am also working with Marsha Poole on A Visual Biography of Father Eugene Buechel.
I have published book reviews with Choice, Ethnohistory, Anthropology Review Database, Archivum Historicum Societatis Iesu, Journal of Religion and Society, Theological Studies, Review for Latino Theology, The Bulletin of The Society for Archaeological Sciences, The Ethnic Studies Review, America Magazine, the American Ethnologist, the American Indian Quarterly, Cross Currents, Teaching Sociology, the American Catholic Historical Review, Nebraska History, and Explorations in Sight and Sound.
Presentations:
I have been invited to give a presentation as part of the Forward Together lecture series at the University of Regina.
Faculty Positions:
I am an ex-officio memberof the Faculty Senate at Creighton University as department chair.I am also the director of the Native American Studies program. I serve on the College ADA Committe. In addition to this I am the liason for Native American Outreach at the University. I also am the faculty advisor for Hui-o-Hawaii, the Hawaiian cultural society on campus. I am also a Redence Chaplain.
