The Road Report
Typhoon Zeb's Disasterous Effects
October 13, 1998

Here are images taken from the bus as we road through flooded areas on our way back to Manila. Steams turned to rivers and passed over the road bed. Our driver had several false starts and kept asking the busses coming the other way for the best route.

The results of the storm which struck north of where the villa house is located were disasterous. More than 50 people were killed and there was much damage to property, livestock and crops. As the bus passed each flooded area the children seemed to be rather light-hearted about the whole thing while the adults were clearly more preoccupied with plans for eventual clean-up (for those lucky enough not to have had their house washed away).

Here are some random photos which need no explanation.
