The Road Report
The Prayer Walk
September 25, 1998

Some spam recipients commented on my report on walking on the second floor of the Chapel during the monsoon rains. One day this week the rains came in the afternoon so I walked with the camera so you could enjoy some of the views and architectural rythm I enjoy during my morning or afternoon prayer walks.

Here is the arched walkway... something relaxing about the rythm of the arches and pillars inside and the randomness of the tropical forest outside!

Tops of palm trees and the walkway back to the Tertianship wing (we are still up one floor from this level.

Nature and culture: the palm trees grow into the arches!

Looking the other way.... note the rythm of the pillars along the Church-- all the upper story windows can be opened-- perfect for the warm tropics!

This tree makes the most fantastic sounds in the driving rain.... I can hear it each day when it rains-- it has a higher pitch then the others and a rattle like a snare drum!

The "clubhouse turn" -- the back of the walkway past private Mass chapels-- I'm up before the private Mass crowd!

The lush canopy-- mahogany trees in the distance-- they roar in the rain!

The fruit (I think) of one of the many species of palms found here in the Philippines.

Part of a spider web in the rain-- I'm proud of my camera for managing this one! The long lines are rain drops (it was still raining when I took these two pictures).

And here is the builder of the web-- a spider about the span of an adult's hand!!!
