Intramuros (within the walls) is the walled city established by the Spanish early in their contact with the Philippines. It is quiet and peaceful place (compared to the noise of the city around it) and contains wonderful examples of Spanish archetecture. Here are some pictures from the first Church (destroyed several times, the last being World War II) built by the Augustinians as their monestary and Church.
