Write a short essay (2-3 pages) on the images Flaherty (the director of the film) presents in Nanook of the North and how these reveal his understanding of Native people. Be careful not to simply summarize the movie. Try to see beyond the lens and consider the implications of what Flaherty is trying to portray and not portray in this movie.
