Prairie Island Indian Community: Starting in 1880, some Mdewakanton families began to return to Prairie Island, buying back small parcels of our ancestral home. In 1936, the Prairie Island Indian Community was recognized by the federal government and 534 acres (a tiny portion) of the island became our reservation.

Sioux Valley Dakota Nation : This reserve was established in Canada in 1873.

Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Community : The Mendota Mdewakanton Dakota Community is working on regaining and keeping its culture and heritage so that future generations of people from all races can learn and will know about the Dakota culture.

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe This is the Tribe's official home page. You can also visit the home page of the current Tribal Chairman, Gregg J. Bourland (Eagles Watch Over Him). The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Members also support an information site called Sioux Heritage which offers a Lakota dictionary and the making of spirit sheilds.

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe The Sicangu Oyate, this is the Tribe's official home page, headquartered in Rosebud, South Dakota. The Rosebud Sioux Tribe also has web pages for its Office of Tourism.

The Oglala Sioux Sioux Tribe: This is the official site for the Oglala Sioux Tribe of the Pine Ridge Reservation. Pine Ridge also has a site for its Area Chamber of Commerce

Tribal Empowerment TEAM (Tribal Empowerment Anti Drug/Violence Movement) is an official agency of the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe. .

Yankton Sioux Tribal Tourism Association: The Ihanktonwan Dakota (Yankton Sioux Tribe) of South Dakota do not yet have an official web page. This is a tourism page with information on the Tribe itself and recreation opportunities in this area.
